My focus idles ok on about 750/800rpm just poor mpg. I heard there not great on mpg and I thought I get bit more like 28 ish but not near the ford book quotes 32. As for maf sensor I've never looked at it or cleaned it. I changed air filter and there was a tiny little oil sponge filter in there from breather hose.
